The report found that Xiaomi’s Mi 10T 5G mobile phone has software that can review content.

The Ministry of National Defense of Lithuania said that due to the discovery of a built-in censorship function in Chinese brand mobile phones, it recommends that consumers in this country abandon Chinese mobile phones. This may make the relationship between the two countries already tense due to the Taiwan issue even worse.

The National Cyber Security Center of the Ministry of Defense of Lithuania announced on September 21 that after testing a 5G mobile phone produced by a Chinese manufacturer, it was found that a Xiaomi mobile phone had a built-in review tool and a Huawei mobile phone had security flaws.

Huawei stated that no user data was sent to the outside world, and Xiaomi stated that the company did not review communications.

“Our advice is not to buy new Chinese mobile phones, and to throw away the ones that have already been purchased as soon as possible,” said Margiris Abukevicius, Lithuanian Deputy Minister of Defense.
