Locana, six hikers stuck at high altitude saved by helicopter

The group called for help around 8pm on Sunday 15 and within a couple of hours it was brought back downstream by the fire brigade.

LOCANA. On the evening of Sunday 15 May six hikers got stuck at high altitude in Valle Orco above Locana. Mountain enthusiasts, around 8 pm, worried about the return, considered impossible without help, contacted the rescuers. The mountain rescue team promptly identified the group: to recover the group of hikers, the firefighters, the teams from Ivrea and Castellamonte who took care of the operation used the Drago helicopter. Thanks to the good weather conditions, the rescue was quick and, within about two hours from the call for help, he brought the group back downstream.
