TO THE PORT. With a mountain millefiori, Luca Serafini wins the seventh edition of the provincial competition “Limana, the country of honey”. His is the best of the 33 samples collected, which were the setting for a party that, despite the strict rules to be followed, was able to fill the streets of the center with over a hundred exhibitors, not to mention the numerous collateral events proposed in the weekend.

The recognition to Serafini was presented in front of the Limana town hall by the mayor Milena De Zanet, by the regional councilor Giovanni Puppato and by the president of Apidolomiti Luca Stefani.

Five categories awarded by the jury chaired by Stefania Marcuz: rhododendron, dandelion, lime, mountain wildflower and valley wildflower. Due to the precarious weather conditions which reduced the quantities to a minimum, the first two were awarded only special mentions: for the rhododendron to Alberto Zambelli Mariani, for the dandelion to Teresa Vieceli. On the other hand, a judgment was assigned to each of the other categories in the competition, from a minimum of one to a maximum of three edelweiss, based on the quality of the honey. For the lime tree category, one star went to Elena De Pasqual, two stars to Francesco Avesani and three stars to Armando Conedera, the absolute winner of last season. For the mountain millefiori: one star to Andrea Cadorin, two to Alberto Zambelli Mariani and three to Luca Serafini, absolute winner. For the millefiori di valle one star on an equal footing to Fausto Bogo and Lucio Canal, two to Monica Caronno and three to both Elisa Tormen and Andrea Zanvettor, who therefore shared the gold medal. And to whom there is a round of applause ». The councilor Puppato, who read a letter from the president of the region Luca Zaia, praised the effort of the volunteers, who underlined the ability of the Municipality of Limana to organize an event that gave prestige to the territory and in this case ” to a product that is one of the excellences of the province of Belluno, especially from the point of view of development and environmental sustainability ». «Bees», continued Giovanni Puppato, «symbolize development and industriousness at the service of the community. The Venetians are champions in volunteering ».

An applause from the audience then introduced the highlight of the event, that is the start of the awards ceremony. Among the curiosities highlighted by the president of the jury Marcuz was the one related to honey by Luca Serafini, who explained that he had grown his own honey at Malga Ciapela, at 1500 meters above sea level..
