M5S, the figures of missed refunds: 90 parliamentarians no longer pay

Three days ago, the M5S National Council gave the green light to the 2021 report of the 5 Star Movement. The approval came at the end of a “call” convened by the pentastellato leader Giuseppe Conte, in which the Movement’s staff took part. A positive balance with a sore point: the so-called “refunds”. In fact, in the coffers of the Movement “several million euros” would be missing. From that moment on, a more or less capillary survey took place.

It emerged that about a third of the pentastellati elect either pay part of the salary in fits and starts or have stopped doing it. And there would be about 90 elected people who fail in this “duty”. Reason? What is circulating the most is that many of them will not be re-elected and therefore they are keeping all the allowance in view of worse times.

Conte’s words
The leader Conte comments on the issue as follows: «The budget is in surplus and the final balance as well. Obviously, the issue of refunds exists and we will address it but very calmly because for us the commitments made above all with citizens are commitments that have, beyond the legal aspect, a high ethical value and in our community ethics is in the first place. “.
