Mafia in Bari, the two police officers involved in the investigation suspended – News

The two police officers from Bari involved in the investigation which in recent days led to the execution of 130 precautionary measures have been suspended from duty. We learn this from Municipality sources. Furthermore, four suspension procedures have also started within Amtab, the municipal company that manages public transport. Some disciplinary proceedings are awaiting completion.

According to what emerged from the investigations, which revealed alleged episodes of political-mafia vote swapping in the 2019 elections, the police officers would have asked for help from a loyalist of the Parisi mafia clan, Fabio Fiore (former driver of the Japigia boss ‘Savinuccio’), probably to punish a person who, after having ignored a red light, would have insulted them. The same investigation also revealed infiltration of organized crime into the Amtab, on which hiring was imposed.
