“I have come to this community for delivery since this morning, once an hour, 10 to 15 orders at a time, mainly rice, grain, oil, noodles and vegetables. Today’s delivery volume is about three times the usual.” Chen Yongyang, the delivery staff of the platform, told reporters that most orders for his distribution station today came from this community.
“Our distribution station has sufficient cargo reserves, and there is no problem with the supply.” While talking to the buyer, the delivery staff Yuan Zhongquan wrote the name and phone number of the consignee on the packaging of the goods. “Our distribution station invited people from the surrounding distribution stations to support today, and it went smoothly.”
Beside several delivery personnel, Mei Xuefeng, a volunteer wearing protective clothing, told reporters that since 6:30 in the morning on the 23rd, he has been collecting goods on the spot with many staff and volunteers. “According to regulations, delivery personnel are not allowed to enter the community. The workload is relatively large.” Yang Ying told reporters that after the confirmed case appeared, the urban, township and streets were all moving. Up to now, there are 562 workers in various agencies and departments of the district government, 470 people supporting nucleic acid testing in the towns of Changping District, and about 500 volunteers such as party members, resident representatives, and corporate employees have participated in the fight against the “epidemic”.
Yang Ying told reporters that at present, in addition to nucleic acid testing, they also conduct door-to-door inspections to find out pregnant women and patients with diseases that require regular medical treatment to ensure that everyone’s medical needs are not affected during the isolation period. The reporter saw on the scene that the staff and volunteers were transporting goods in batches by car or trolley. Items such as rice, noodles and oil were heavy and the goods were constantly being delivered. The staff and volunteers almost trot to deliver the goods.
“We will continue to carry out nucleic acid testing in the past few days. Our staff must ensure that everyone in the community is tested. No one is missed, and the pressure is not small.” Yang Ying said.
In addition, some front-line workers said that at present, community workers and volunteers are dealing with some requests from residents who have been transferred to the centralized isolation point, such as issuing isolation certificates and helping to take care of small animals such as cats and dogs in the house.
