by admin

Mandatory 10-day paternity leave, 50% reduction for women returning to work after maternity, plus resources to the fund for gender pay equality. The chapter of the maneuver is fed with measures intended for the family.

Paternity leave

From 2022, the mandatory ten-day paternity leave (within five months from the birth of the child) becomes structural. The leave had been raised from seven to ten days with the last maneuver, but only for 2021.

Decontribution for working mothers

The exemption of 50% for one year of the payment of social security contributions paid by employed mothers in the private sector who return to work after taking the compulsory maternity leave is known. The measure is experimental.

Gender equal pay: the fund rises to 52 million

The Fund to support gender pay equality is significantly increased: it goes from 2 to 52 million euros a year. The resources will be allocated “to support the participation of women in the labor market, also through the definition of procedures for the acquisition, by public and private companies, of a certification of gender equality to which contributory benefits are connected in favor of the employer”.

Policies for gender equality: a strategic plan

A Strategic Plan will be created to combat gender stereotypes and bridge gaps in work, pay and pensions. The goal is “to identify good practices to combat gender stereotypes, close the gender gap in the labor market, achieve parity in participation in different economic sectors, address the problem of the pay and pension gap and bridge the gap and achieve ‘gender balance in the decision-making process’.
