«As you point out in your thesis, Citizenship Income is the most recent in a long series of interventions aimed at supporting the most vulnerable sections of the population in Italy. It is inspired by constitutional values, such as equality and political, economic and social solidarity. However, it is an instrument which, as you underline, has some limits, especially as regards active labor policies ”. Prime Minister Mario Draghi writes this in response to a graduate university student who sent him his thesis on income. The premier thanked the young man for “sharing his observations”.
The letter was made public by the young Marco Liati, who attends the University of Insubria. At the bottom of the document, registered by the Prime Minister, is the signature of Draghi, who responded to the initiative of the young man, who shared with the Prime Minister his thesis on Citizenship Income, a topic on which the government should to intervene. “With best wishes for your studies, Mario Draghi”, concludes the letter from the premier to the university. And the young man relaunches it on Twitter commenting: “Son satisfactions”.
