Now in its eighth edition, the course is organized by the University of Turin in collaboration with the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, with funding from the Ferrero Foundation and the technical-scientific support of Soremartec Italia.

The appointment is at 10.30, in the auditorium of the Ferrero Foundation in Alba. In the first part, after the greetings of Bartolomeo Salomone, president of Ferrero spa and general secretary of the Ferrero Foundation, of the rector Geuna, of Lorenzo Morelli, director of the Department of Food Science and Technology of the Catholic University, of Roberto Menta, director of Nutrition & Sustainability of Soremartec, and by Luca Simone Cocolin, director of the Master, there will be a lectio magistralis in streaming by Arne Astrup, of the University of Copenhagen, dedicated to saturated fatty acids and entitled «Saturated Fats & Nutritional Guidelines: the next chapter is coming». The awarding of the best students who attended the Master in the academic year 2020-2021 will be followed by the round table on “Science & Innovation: the Future is Driven by Research”.

Eleven university students from all over Italy have completed their annual post-graduate studies. A prize of 10 thousand euros will be awarded to the student who has achieved the title with the best overall and ongoing evaluation, and an award, again of 10 thousand euros, to the best final thesis. This year, a 3,000 euro prize is added to the group of students who achieved the best Business Scenario. “This eighth edition, thanks to the improvements made progressively in previous editions on the student, teacher and program selection phases, has highlighted an excellent level of preparation and application of the participants” say the promoters. Thanks to the course of study of the Master, graduates with adequate training in different scientific sectors obtain an interdisciplinary preparation in the field of human nutrition sciences and technologies, which allows them to address research and development issues of new food products, development of product and process quality.

“In particular – add from the University of Turin -, the Master intends to train specialists with interdisciplinary knowledge in the technological, medical biological and chemical fields that allow the insertion in the production system of a food company, a research laboratory or in a consulting company, having a broad and complete vision of the factors that can influence the choices in the creation of new food products or in the reformulation of existing ones ».
