“In the last 30 years we have always been firm and solid in our aspiration” replied, in relation to the prospect of her country’s accession to the EU, the president of Georgia, Salomé Zourabichvili, who said she was “honored” to be in Rome in state visit, “the first in 25 years”, on a “truly important” date that marks “30 years of diplomatic relations” between Italy and Georgia.
At the end of the meeting, the Head of State also declared that “Tbilisi and Rome have a common vision in international life and on the values on which the international community is founded: rejection of war, peaceful coexistence between peoples and respect for national sovereignty and borders”. “The aggression by Russia is causing strong repercussions in the Eastern partnership,” said the Head of State.
