Mediation allowed the release of 34 soldiers held in Vista Hermosa

After mediation by a humanitarian commission led by the Meta government, 34 soldiers from the Omega Joint Task Force troops, who had been held the previous Friday, in the municipality of Vista Hermosa, were released.

This was confirmed by General Carlos Marmolejo, commander of the Joint Task Force Omega, in communication to the governor of Meta, Rafaela Cortés Zambrano, who celebrated the news.

The senior officer revealed that the uniformed personnel are in good health and that they retain their complete material and equipment.

The leader of the people of Metense thanked the joint work of the Ombudsman’s Office, the UN, the mayor of Vista Hermosa, the Ombudsman’s Office, the Army and the National Police.
