Michele Merlo, the former Amici competitor suffering from a cerebral hemorrhage, died

by admin

Michele Merlo, aka “Mike Bird”, the former competitor of X Factor and of Friends. The 28-year-old boy died this morning after being hospitalized at the Maggiore Hospital in Bologna on the night between Thursday and Friday. Fatal was a cerebral hemorrhage triggered by fulminant leukemia. As soon as he was hospitalized he had undergone a delicate surgery, but that his hopes were “reduced to a flicker”, it was the family members themselves who declared it. His situation had been taken for desperate from the start.

Now there remains the anger of the family who had already stated yesterday that “Michele had been ill for days and on Wednesday he went to the emergency room of another hospital in the Bolognese area which, probably, mistaking the symptoms described for a trivial viral form, had sent him back at home”.

His father Domenico, outside the intensive care unit, had said: “He went to the emergency room in Vergato in full autonomy.” “He complained of symptoms that a shrewd doctor would have picked up. She had had a severe headache for days, neck pain and plaques in her throat, a typical sign of leukemia. If they had examined him they would have seen that he had bruises. We don’t have a medical report but a bracelet with a bar code that I have at home ».

Then he added that he was also in possession of a voice message from his son: “There is an audio that my son sent to the girlfriend in which he says I’m pissed, they told me I stuffed the emergency room with two plaques in my throat. Instead he was tired. Michele had two arms like that. He played sports, he did not drink, he never used drugs, he liked the good life, eating well, good things, he traveled far and wide in Italy ».

Now the Ausl has opened an internal investigation to try to understand what happened. Meanwhile, the Merlo family also pointed out that «Michele has in no way been vaccinated against Covid. Michele was struck by a severe form of fulminant leukemia with subsequent cerebral haemorrhage », categorically denying some misleading news circulated on social media.

The pain and apprehension of fans have invaded social media for days, and many colleagues, from Emma Marrone to Francesco Facchinetti to Ermal Meta, from Federico Rossi (of the duo Benji & Fede) to Aka7even, competitor of the latest edition of Amici, from GionnyScandal to Giulia Salemi have been posting messages of affection for Michele.
