Coming from Serbia, he had just dropped 35 migrants
(ANSA) – TRIESTE, AUG 28 – The Trieste Maritime Border Police has tracked down 35 people (including 13 minors), of Pakistani, Afghan and Bengali nationality, and arrested a Serbian truck driver for the crime of aiding and abetting illegal immigration on the whose semitrailer the migrants had traveled. It happened days ago in the Punto Franco Nuovo, but the news was only made known today. The 35 people were all found to have no documents suitable for entry and stay in Italy or in another EU state.
From the migrants the agents went up, in the area adjacent to the tracing, to an articulated lorry with a Serbian license plate, from which the first had just disembarked. In the course of the investigations, coordinated by the Deputy Public Prosecutor of the Trieste District Anti-Mafia Directorate Federico Frezza, objective elements were collected of the involvement of the driver, a 40-year-old Serbian citizen, in favoring the illegal entry into Italy of tracked migrants. In the semi-trailer, spaces suitably prepared for the transport of people have also been identified. The truck driver, who left Serbia and headed for Italy, was locked up in the Coroneo prison and the vehicle was seized. (HANDLE).
