Original title: Ministry of Foreign Affairs: China assists Myanmar with a new batch of new coronavirus vaccines and anti-epidemic materials delivered in batches today

On the morning of September 3, the delivery ceremony of the Chinese government’s aid to Myanmar for the new crown vaccine and anti-epidemic materials was held.

In this regard, at the regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held today (3rd), spokesman Wang Wenbin said that China and Myanmar are connected by mountains and rivers, and the people of the two countries are deeply affectionate. Since July this year, the new crown pneumonia epidemic in Myanmar has continued to worsen. The Chinese government decided to provide another batch of vaccines and supplies to help Myanmar deal with the epidemic on the basis of previous assistance. On August 18, State Councilor Wang Yi announced this measure at the “Conference to Support ASEAN’s Humanitarian Aid to Myanmar”.

Wang Wenbin pointed out that under the cooperation of the China National Agency for International Development Cooperation, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Yunnan Provincial Government, all vaccines and materials have now arrived at the Yunnan border port and will be delivered to Myanmar in batches starting September 3. Representatives from the National Cooperation Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Yunnan Provincial Government, the Embassy and Consulate in Myanmar, relevant departments of the Myanmar side, and the ASEAN Secretariat attended the material delivery ceremony. This is a concrete measure taken by China to implement Chairman Jinping’s important announcement on vaccines as a global public product. It also fully demonstrates the spirit of a community of shared destiny that China and Myanmar are helping each other and helping each other in the same boat. (CCTV reporter Shen Yang)
