On May 20, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin hosted a regular press conference. A reporter asked questions about the US President’s trip to Asia.
Wang Wenbin said that we have noticed that Sullivan, the National Security Adviser to the US President, said recently that President Biden’s trip to Asia is not a confrontation with China. Conspiracy to split the confrontation, build an open and inclusive circle of friends in the Asia-Pacific, instead of cobbling together a closed and exclusive circle, do more things that are conducive to peace and development in the Asia-Pacific, rather than creating turmoil and chaos in the Asia-Pacific region. As for the “Indo-Pacific Economic Framework”, China believes that any regional cooperation framework should conform to the trend of the times for peace and development, enhance mutual trust and cooperation among regional countries, and should not target or harm the interests of third parties, and there should be no obvious Selectivity and exclusivity.
