However, the severe overseas epidemic has led to suspension of work and production, reduced port operation efficiency, difficulties in returning a large number of empty containers, and shortage of ship capacity and empty containers. Especially affected by unexpected events such as the Suez Canal blockage and the outbreak of the epidemic in India, the capacity of major routes, including my country, continues to be tight, and the supply and demand of capacity are severely imbalanced, making freight rate increases a global phenomenon. At present, the freight rates of major routes in most neighboring countries are higher than that of our country.

Give full play to the role of the international logistics guarantee coordination work mechanism, effectively help cargo owners to solve their difficulties, and provide key customers and key cargo transportation guarantees. Actively guide international liner companies to increase the capacity and container supply of China’s mainland export routes, and improve the efficiency of container transportation.
Zhao Chongjiu introduced that on the main routes of mainland China, the number of cabins invested by major liner companies from January to May this year increased significantly. Among them, the capacity of North American routes reached 5.51 million TEU, an increase of 65% and 27% respectively over the same period in 2020 and 2019. ; The European route has a capacity of 3.48 million TEU, an increase of 38% and 9% over the same period in 2020 and 2019 respectively. my country’s container manufacturers have increased their productivity, and their monthly production capacity has increased to the highest 500,000 TEU. In May, the daily shortage of empty containers in my country’s major ports has dropped to 1.3%, and the shortage of empty containers has been effectively alleviated.
