MODENA Eighteen people taken to hospital for investigations, another two transferred to burn centers in Parma and Verona. This is the balance of a fire of arson that developed shortly before midnight in a building in Modena, in via Emilia Ovest.
According to the investigations that were conducted on the spot by the police, intervened together with the local police, the fire brigade and 118, it is not excluded that the fire may have been started by a resident. A man would have sprinkled his apartment with gasoline and then set it on fire. The flames broke out quickly throughout the building and smoke invaded every room. The firefighters managed to put out the fire around four in the morning.
The two wounded brought to the burn centers of Parma and Verona would be in serious condition, the other 18 eighteen do not worry.
The 18 were taken to the hospital in Baggiovara, the Policlinico di Modena and Sassuolo, they would have been intoxicated by the smoke. Finally, another eleven people were visited and treated directly on the spot by the 118 staff.
