From September 2 to 7, the 2021 China International Service Trade Fair will be held in Beijing. On August 27, the State Information Office held a press conference to introduce the relevant situation.
“The Service Trade Fair is a national, international, comprehensive exhibition and trading platform specially built for service trade.” Vice Minister of Commerce Wang Bingnan said that the scheduled 2021 Service Trade Fair demonstrates my country’s confidence and determination to promote high-level opening up. It embodies the role of my country as a major country in supporting global anti-epidemic cooperation and promoting the recovery of world economy and trade.
According to Yang Jinbai, Deputy Mayor of Beijing, the theme of the 2021 Service Trade Fair is “Digital opens the future, service promotes development” and will be held at the National Convention Center and Shougang Park. Exhibition displays include comprehensive exhibitions and special exhibitions. The comprehensive exhibition is set up at the National Convention Center, with the China Service Trade Development Achievement Exhibition, the Provincial, Autonomous, and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Exhibition, the National Exhibition, and the Digital Service Zone Exhibition, etc. The special exhibition is located in the Shougang Park, focusing on 8 special topics including telecommunications, computer and information services, financial services, cultural and tourism services, education services, sports services, supply chain and business services, engineering consulting and construction services, and health and health services.
The exhibition area of the Service Trade Fair this year has increased by 20,000 square meters over last year, and offline exhibitors have increased by 6% over the previous year. More than 10,000 companies from 153 countries and regions registered for online and offline exhibitions, an increase of 5 countries from the previous session. The internationalization rate and the proportion of the world‘s top 500 both exceeded the previous level. Focusing on cutting-edge trends in the twelve major areas of service trade, focusing on hot topics such as digital economy and digital trade development, 5 summit forums, 119 special forums and industry conferences will be held.
“Preparations are currently progressing smoothly, and the summit forum, exhibitions, epidemic prevention and control, news and publicity, and safety guarantees are basically in place.” Wang Bingnan said that this year’s service trade will focus on the development of service trade in the “13th Five-Year Plan” period.
During the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” period, my country’s achievements in the development of service trade have been remarkable. The total import and export of services has reached US$3.6 trillion, an increase of 29.7% over the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period. The status of the world‘s second largest service trade country has been further consolidated. This year, the Service Trade Association specially set up the China Service Trade Achievement Exhibition.
In addition, this year’s Service Trade Fair set up a special exhibition area for digital services for the first time.
