[New Tang Dynasty News November 24, 2021 Beijing time]The CCP has opened up childbirth, and it is still difficult to alleviate the population crisis. More than a dozen provinces have recently planned to increase assisted reproductive institutions. Lu Media reported that there are more than 50 million infertile couples in China.

Jiemian News reported that 12 provinces, including Shanghai, Hebei, Henan, Tianjin, Guizhou, Anhui, Shaanxi, and Shanxi, have successively released the “Human Assisted Reproductive Technology Application Plan (2021-2025)”, planning to increase the number of assisted reproductive institutions. Among them, Sichuan requires an increase of up to 20, while Anhui, Shaanxi, Jiangsu and other provinces all plan to add no more than 10.

Previously, the General Office of the National Health Commission of the Communist Party of China issued relevant “Guiding Opinions”, requiring localities to set up an assisted reproductive institution for every 2.3 million to 3 million people in principle.

The CCP’s one-child family planning policy has plunged China into a demographic crisis. The authorities fully opened up childbearing in the name of “opening up three children” this year, but because of the high cost of childcare and education in China, young people are not willing to have children. The CCP authorities have adopted various “incentive policies”, but the effect is not obvious.

The so-called assisted reproductive institutions, whose main function is to help infertile couples to conceive by artificial means, of which IVF is a main business.

The Paper quoted official reports that the infertility rate of couples of childbearing age in China was only 3% in 1995, but the latest survey shows that from 2007 to 2020, the rate has risen from 12% to 18%. Approximately 50 million people are infertile.

In September this year, CCTV and other Chinese Communist Party media began high-profile publicity on assisted reproductive institutions and IVF. Prior to this, the official media generally held a negative attitude towards “test-tube babies”.

In response to reports of state media encouraging test-tube babies, Chinese netizens have left messages and complained. Some people condemned the environment and food pollution, work pressure caused a large number of infertility, the official should solve the fundamental problem. There are also complaints about the low success rate and high cost of IVF, which brings pain to women.

Mr. Chen, who graduated from medical university, told Radio Free Asia that solving the population problem requires government support in the fields of employment, housing, medical care, and pensions. The authorities’ attempts to increase the birth rate through “shortcuts” such as IVF cannot change the trend of China’s declining birth rate.
