Mountain accidents: German guide dies on Grand Combin

After sliding for 300 meters on the Meitin glacier

(ANSA) – AOSTA, APRIL 24 – A 29-year-old German mountain guide died today on the Swiss side of the Grand Combin (4,314 meters above sea level), after having slipped for 300 meters.

The accident occurred at dawn, at about 3,390 meters, on the Meitin glacier. According to reports from the Valais police, the mountaineer left alone from the Valsorey refuge. Rescuers could not help but ascertain his death. The Swiss judicial authorities have opened an investigation. (HANDLE).
