Romano Prodi and Mattia Santori, leader of the Sardine movement, had lunch together in the Professor’s historic home, in via Gerusalemme in Bologna. Many saw in the meeting an endorsement by the Professor towards Santori, candidate for municipal council in Bologna on the Democratic party lists, but from Prodi’s entourage they deny this hypothesis. Santori also explained how the lunch served to dispel the news, repeatedly bounced during the period of media exposure of the Sardines, that the former prime minister was behind the movement born during the regional electoral campaign in Emilia-Romagna. «It was our first meeting – Santori’s words in a post on Facebook – today I learned that time is always an honest man. And that politics is always better than how we tell it ».
