Murder Burgio in Palermo, one of the suspects: “I bought the gun from a Tunisian”

This is what one of the three Romanos allegedly said about the crime of the young man killed in Vucciria

Palermo – “I bought the 200 euro pistol from a Tunisian and I went to ruin myself.” This is what one of the three Romanos, Giovan Battista Matteo and Domenico, would have said at the police station while they were waiting to be questioned. One of the many tests that lined up led the investigating judge Piergiorgio Morosini to validate the arrests and sign the precautionary order in prison for the three accused of the murder of Emanuele Burgio, a few days ago in Palermo.

According to the reconstruction of the mobile squad, as stated in the ordinance, the three Romanos arrived aboard three scooters together with three other people on Sunday night in the Vucciria area. The images taken by the video surveillance systems would frame Giovanni Battista son of Domenico. The father the only one to answer the judge would have tried to exonerate the son. But the cameras would have filmed Giovanni Battista who holds the gun behind his back and passes it to his uncle Matteo who in a lightning-fast way starts firing at Emanuele Burgio. The latter tries to escape but is caught with more gunshots. The forensic police found both bloodstains and a nine-gauge and three-shell ogive on the pavement. The motive for the murder still needs to be clarified. Domenico the only suspect who spoke said that it all started after a trivial accident. Burgio’s car would have hit Giovanni Battista with the side mirror. Hence the quarrel with numerous unsuccessful attempts at reconciliation, up to the murder. But the three Romanos under investigation spoke in the room of the police headquarters before being questioned and Domenico turning to Matteo said: “Did you tell him that three years ago he slaughtered you with sticks?”, And Matteo replied: “Yes, to the Calamaro” this is that the quarrels between the Burgio and the Romanos had been going on for some time and that the incident of fifteen days ago is only the latest episode of a war that is going on for other interests.
