On Friday the three days in the capital dedicated to the brigade active between 1953 and 1997 will start. Saturday we talk about mountain protection, Sunday parade from piazzale Resistenza to downtown

BELLUNO. 25 years after its dissolution, the black feathers honor the memory of the Cadore Brigade. Between Friday and Sunday, the Ana section of Belluno organizes the 6th meeting of the brigade active between 1953 and 1997. An appointment inaugurated in 1999 and repeated in the following five years, to keep alive the memory of a company operating in peacetime and protagonist of numerous aid and solidarity interventions.

Over the weekend the capital will be the hub of various kinds of initiatives: not only parades, but also cultural events. Central will be the conference “The Alpine troops and the protection of the mountain”, scheduled for Saturday at 10 in the hall of the section in via Tissi. «An idea born», explains the president Lino De Pra, «from our culture of respect for the mountains. From the desire to maintain agriculture and pastoralism in the area, also involving young people in this type of activity. We started with the four Belluno winners, between 1981 and 2016, of the “Loyalty to the mountains” award: the Livinallongo del Col di Lana Breeders Cooperative, Bassan di Borsoi d’Alpago, Monte Cavallo di Tambre, Diego’s farm Dorigo in Laste di Rocca Pietore. We therefore extended the invitation to five associations in the agri-food sector: Coldiretti, Confagricoltura, Cia, Cooperativa Allevatori and Apidolomiti. The speaker will be prof. Giustino Mezzalira, who will develop the proposed theme. The final speech will be by Antonio Bortoli, director of Lattebusche ».

As a corollary to the conference, from 9.30 to 17, at the former Jesuit convent, a market exhibition of the products of the aforementioned companies. And, from 9 to 17, at the Bologna Park, an exhibition of Civil Protection materials.

Two concerts are also scheduled. On Friday at 8.45 pm at the Municipal Theater the choirs Ana Adunata, Mesulano di Cordignano and Minimo Bellunese will dust off traditional Alpine songs. On Saturday at 9 pm, the Fanfare and the chorus of the dismissed of the Cadore Brigade will perform together at the Spes Arena. “An occasion”, underlines De Pra, “which wants to bring to light those who worked in the Brigade, and to remember their splendor with the happy music and songs of the time”.

To complete the picture, on Saturday from 2 pm at the Salsa barracks vehicles and materials of the Alpine troops will be exhibited; at 3.45 pm the honor to the fallen; at 4.45 pm flag-raising in Piazza dei Martiri, then in Piazza Duomo the carousel of the Fanfare of the dismissed of the Cadore Brigade. Then, at 6.30 pm, in the Cathedral, the choir of the dismissed will accompany the celebration presided over by Bishop Renato Marangoni.

On Sunday it will open at 10.30 with the parade from Piazzale della Resistenza to the streets of the center. The procession will break up in the area behind the De Mas sports hall, where the alpine rations will be distributed at 12. Finally, at 5 pm in Piazza dei Martiri, lower the flag with the Alpine Fanfare of Borsoi d’Alpago.
