New Regulations on CCP Textbooks: Xi Jinping Thought Covers All Courses | Xi Jinping Thought | CCP Textbook Committee | Cultural Revolution Resurgence

[New Tang Dynasty Beijing time August 26, 2021]In response to the ruling crisis, the CCP has continuously strengthened its control over the people’s thoughts and behaviors, and there is a strong trend of “Cultural Revolution resurgence”. A few days ago, the authorities issued new regulations that require the realization of “Xi Jinping Thought” to fully cover all teaching materials of universities, middle schools and primary schools, including various courses such as science, engineering, agriculture and medicine.

On Tuesday (August 24), the official website of the Ministry of Education of the Communist Party of China announced the “Guide to the Teaching Materials for the Courses of Xi Jinping’s New Era Socialism Thought with Chinese Characteristics” issued by the National Textbook Committee on July 21 by all provinces and cities. The “Guide” requires all courses to be “integrated organically into learning thinking”, so that “Xi thinking” covers all teaching materials.

The “Guide” requires that you must learn “Xi Thought” from elementary school, to universities and research institutes, and “connect with each other and step by step”, and “cast the soul” of “Xi Thought” to students.

The “Guide” stated that ideological and political courses are the main channel for implementing “Xi ideology” into the course textbooks, but natural science course textbooks should also be integrated with “Xi ideology” to guide students to “appreciate the power of truth in ideology” in the learning process.

The “Guide” also provides specific guidance on how to “integrate into the thinking of learning” for different disciplines and different stages of learning, and requires that the review of the “practice and recent thinking situation” of the unified teaching materials be strengthened.

At the press conference of the Ministry of Education on Tuesday, Tian Huisheng, director of the Bureau of Teaching Materials of the Ministry of Education, made it clear that students should be trained to “unswervingly listen to and follow the party, and establish the ideals and beliefs to continue the struggle for the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics.”

In response to the Chinese government’s efforts to push Xi Jinping’s thoughts, Professor Feng Chongyi, an expert on China issues at the University of Technology Sydney, said in an interview with The Epoch Times on the 25th that forcible brainwashing with national power would not work, and the public just pretended to believe it.

He said: “This is to use the power of a country to push. In fact, there is no atmosphere like the 1950s and 1960s, Mao era, (for example) everyone will respectfully follow blindly at the moment of an order. It’s a post-centralization era, and its fundamental feature is: it’s not to believe these lies, but to pretend to believe. That is, everyone is playing and pretending.”

Professor Feng Chongyi believes that this kind of brainwashing education may destroy the intelligence quotient of children or the people, but now unlike the Mao era, people will not blindly follow the CCP’s propaganda. The practice of forcibly pushing thoughts is a farce.

Previously, on August 3, the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission issued the “Shanghai Elementary and Secondary Schools 2021 Curriculum Plan and Explanations”, stipulating that only Chinese, mathematics and foreign languages should be tested in the mid-term and final exams for primary and secondary schools. However, the plan clearly requires the addition of compulsory courses such as “revolutionary culture” and “students’ reading books for learning thinking”. As a result, Shanghai became the first province to include “Xi Thought” as a compulsory curriculum for primary and secondary schools.

The Epoch Times quoted the analysis of independent writer Zhuge Mingyang, saying that Shanghai’s approach should be a response to the CCP’s suppression of off-campus training institutions. However, the Shanghai authorities reduced examination subjects for students while increasing compulsory ideological and political courses, highlighting that “reducing the burden” for students is only superficial, and strengthening ideological control is the essence.

While the CCP authorities were pursuing off-campus training, Shanghai canceled the English test at the end of primary school, and then ordered a strict review of teaching materials, forcing the city to remove English-language reference books. According to external analysis, the authorities have strengthened the closed brainwashing of students under the banner of “burden reduction”.
