ODERZO. Fatal that night of the birth was the 20-minute delay with which the midwife advised Dr. De Vita that the clinical picture of labor had become considerably complicated and the latter’s decision to extract the newborn with the suction cup instead of immediately arrange the caesarean section.
These are, in summary, the conclusions of the consultants of the prosecutor’s office, exposed yesterday in the courtroom, at the trial of Dr. Maria Grazia De Vita, 48 years old from Sacile, the gynecologist on duty in the Oderzo hospital that dramatic evening of 28 June 2016 in which she was born Agata Maria, who died at the Treviso hospital after three days of life.
