After being relegated against SV Wehen Wiesbaden, Arminia Bielefeld’s captain and crowd favorite Fabian Klos has again asserted that he wants to go into the 3rd division with East Westphalia.
“I stand by it,” said Klos. “It doesn’t feel like saying goodbye to me right now.” The 35-year-old striker’s contract is expiring. “The club knows 100% that I have my mobile phone with me on vacation and that everyone can call me at any time,” said Klos.
Managing Director Christoph Wortmann announced timely talks with Klos. The veteran was the only one from Bielefeld to be celebrated by the fans in the 2-1 draw in the relegation second leg. “You can all go, except Fabi,” Arminia supporters chanted several times. The East Westphalians lost the first leg 4-0 last Friday, which was overshadowed by riots by Bielefeld fans.
