PORDENONE. 70 percent of the nurses suspended from the order are retired. This is the figure released on Tuesday 20 July by President Luciano Clarizia. The Medical Association, on the other hand, awaits the final list from the prevention department before calling an extraordinary council.
The day after the suspension of unvaccinated nurses, Clarizia announced that “given the number of retirees, I do not believe that their suspension has great consequences for health facilities”. Those operating work in Asfo (Western Friuli Health Authority), private facilities and retirement homes. Two of them announced yesterday that they have been vaccinated in Veneto where they work and a third that they are pregnant. «I believe – underlined Clarizia – that the number of suspended ones is destined to decrease. As soon as the prevention department communicates the data on vaccinations to us, we will readmit them in order ».
On the trade unions front “we have not received any reports of appeals – said Daniela Antonello of the CISL -. It will probably also take time to digest the news ».
The Order of doctors and dentists of the province, meanwhile, has not yet established the date on which the council will have to take note of the checks on unvaccinated members: “I am waiting for the final list to arrive – said the president Guido Lucchini -. Then we will proceed according to what is established by the decree law ». Lucchini clarified: “We become mere executors of a decision taken by a third party which is the health company and therefore we will only have the burden of acknowledging this communication”, without the need to adopt any resolution.
The Order of Nurses immediately proceeded to suspend, but from the order of the Doctors the president stated that «there is no rush. The companies took 4 months to establish who had not been vaccinated … ». The president announced, from the data in his possession, that 37 doctors are not vaccinated in the province of Pordenone. “Of these 20 names we have been notified, the other 17 have presented or are presenting justifications as to why they did not get vaccinated and the department is evaluating their position.”
Among the 20 there would be doctors already vaccinated in other regions, a pregnant doctor and colleagues in old age. “When we have all the names – reiterated Lucchini – we will take the measures required by law”.
