Nomadic Photography (Photo) – International

by admin

The photographers Joey Lawrence and Giuseppe Nucci are the protagonists of the first edition of the Molichrom event: festival of nomadic photography, curated by Eolo Perfido. “A land of ‘tratturi’ and transhumance, Molise has always had a strong bond with its territory and this festival was born with the aim of triggering a dialogue with photography”, explains Perfido.

Lawrence is on display with his works on nomadic populations made in the Horn of Africa, Somalia, Mongolia, Kurdistan and India. While Nucci exhibits two works: Along the shepherds’ highway e InsideTerra. The first is on transhumance – the ancient practice of moving cattle from summer pastures to winter ones – created in central Italy, where it followed the paths of the sheep tracks, the roads crossed by the millennial passage of flocks and which for many centuries have represented the main arteries for trade. The second on the traditions and beliefs of some countries he visited along the Apennine chain.

Alongside the two main exhibitions, a selection of the finalist images of the London street photography festival, which is a partner of this first edition of Molichrom, is on display.

The exhibitions are hosted in various places between Campobasso, Montagano (province of Campobasso) and Pietrabbondante (province of Isernia). After the opening weekend that has just ended, which hosted meetings and workshops, they will remain open on several days between July and August.
