AGROPOLIS. The “Covid Hospital” of Agropoli has been reorganized. The recent data on the epidemic, due to the currently very low incidence of infections in the Salerno province, has prompted the ASL to review the need for beds for intensive and sub-intensive care. As for the former, six beds have been suspended, while the latter are reduced from 11 to seven. The Covid Infectious Diseases department is moved from the first to the second floor: the rooms are ready to host the activities. Also in this ward there is a reduction in the number of beds: they go from 20 to 9 (plus two in the Day Hospital for monoclonal therapy). There are 24 nurses available: 12 will be employed for the sub-intensive beds, another 12 for the beds in the infectious diseases department. On the other hand, the number of people employed in the auxiliary service remained unchanged.
Provisional provisions, which will follow the dynamics of the contagion: based on the needs, it will be possible to return both to the previous organizational situation and to operate a greater reduction in activities. «We must not forget – says Rosa Lampasona, doctor in the front row in the Covid Hospital of Agropoli and councilor for Health at the gates of Cilento – the great work done in recent months. We have operated 150 hospitalizations since the ICU opened on October 27th. In recent months the hospital has been reborn. Together with Scafati, Agropoli is a reference point for the Covid emergency. We have been of great support to the territory, but not only. We have given relief to many families, many patients have been treated and healed by Covid. Now the reduction of cases has led to this reorganization, but in any case we remain the reference point of the ASL. Now we continue to respect the rules and complete the vaccination cycle ».
Words confirmed by the medical director of the Dea di Vallo della Lucania and Agropoli, Adriano De Vita: «The new reorganization will allow the reactivation of the general medicine ward, which had been closed during the most acute phases of the pandemic. We keep the pandemic phenomenon and its evolution under control, we aim to evaluate the new assets, based on its developments we will be ready for any eventuality. We are proceeding to supply all the useful resources for the hyperbaric chamber, implementing those available to the hospital. During the period of Covid we were forced to increase the spaces, which still remain operational and will be resumed as needed. The staff has really done a good job, managing to fully satisfy the requests of our ASL and also of others. It deserves an applause ». The “Civile”, meanwhile, houses one of the two city vaccination points (the other is the Red Cross gym in Viale Lombardia), continuing its activities from this point of view. More than 55 percent of the inhabitants of Agropolesi vaccinated in the city.
