CORTINA. The newly established Cortina Foundation has its first names. The Province of Belluno has identified its representatives within the steering committee and the board of directors: they are Enrico De Bona and the lawyer Stefano Campoccia. The profiles of De Bona, former deputy mayor of Ponte nelle Alpi, and of Campoccia, vice president of Udinese Calcio, were selected among the candidates received in recent weeks, within the public selection activated by the body, which is a founding member. of the Foundation, together with the Region and the Municipality of Cortina.

“These two figures will represent the Province and will help us organize and promote sporting and cultural events from now to the 2026 Olympics”, comments the President of the Province, Roberto Padrin. “Teamwork with the Region and Cortina will have the ultimate goal of creating a fundamental legacy system even after 2026, to carry on the legacy of the great event”.

Enrico De Bona, 42, former vice mayor of Ponte and vice president of the Comunità Montana Belluno-Ponte, was also on the board of the Fisi Veneto and boasts a long experience in the world of winter sports. Stefano Campoccia, 61, a lawyer with a master’s degree at Bocconi, has a long experience as a director in important Italian companies and as a consultant for the Government (for which he collaborated, for example, in the drafting of the Melandri decree regarding economic relations to the within the football system) and for various sports clubs, including Serie A and B football teams (he was also a director of Lega Serie A and dealt, among other things, with the legal aspects of project financing activities for the realization of the Dacia Arena of Udine).

“Two profiles who know the sporting environment very well and in whom we place great trust”, continues President Padrin. “In the next few weeks the Cortina Foundation to be established will be able to complete the necessary technical-administrative steps and then will begin to work to build the path from here to the Olympics together with the territory”.

The Foundation, according to the statute approved by the three founding members, “has as its purpose the promotion and organization, in any useful form, of activities, events, demonstrations and any other preparatory, prodromal or otherwise linked to the carrying out of sporting events and cultural events or in any case of national or international events that can usefully fit into an overall framework of development and enhancement of the territory, also with reference to the Alpine Ski World Cup competitions, as well as the holding of the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games Milan Cortina 2026 “. The bodies of the Foundation will be the institutional committee (made up of the delegates of the three founders), the steering committee and the board of directors (for which the Province has identified its two members), the president and the board of auditors .
