Fifty years ago, half of women with operated breast cancer died. Today the 10-year survival is close to 89%. The credit goes to many doctors and researchers. Among them there is Serena Di Cosimo46, oncologist specializing in breast cancer, returned to Italy in 2012 after a 9-year career in Spain.
Today Di Cosimo is a medical director at the Integrated Biology Platform at the National Cancer Institute of Milan.
