The 50 members of IPAC-a total of 20 national parliamentarians expressed their strong opposition to Hu’s candidacy in a signed letter. They accused the CCP of repeatedly abusing Interpol’s red arrest warrants and systematically persecuting dissidents in exile. Legislators stated that the International Criminal Police Congress may “give the green light” for the CCP to continue to abuse this world organization, pushing overseas dissidents, including Uyghurs and Tibetans, to “greater risks.”

He said: “The role of INTERPOL is to promote international cooperation in the field of law enforcement and combating injustices on a global scale. After China submitted the Interpol Red Notice, Uyghur activist Idris Hasan was detained after arriving in Morocco from Turkey in July 2021 and has been living there since 2012. Hasan has Chinese nationality and Turkish residence permit. In August, INTERPOL cancelled the red warrant after a review.
