PAGANI. It was the 30th of April 2019 when a frightening accident along via Fontana, on the outskirts of the municipality of Pagani, recorded the injury of a woman driving a car, with an initial reserved prognosis which then evolved into polytrauma scattered throughout the body as a consequence of the accident : the car of the victim, a Ford Fiesta, was hit by a Land Rover Discovery, an off-road vehicle that was proceeding at high speed, well beyond the limits, driven by a 38-year-old now facing trial on charges of serious injuries. The driver of the Fort had the worst impact, reporting in an initial reserved prognosis “the fracture of the occipital condyle, rib fractures in the chest, bilateral pulmonary contusions, burst fracture of the left acetabulum and of some transverse processes of the rachis, of the area sacral, with other lacerated-bruised wounds to the face and forehead “, with healing expected in at least twelve weeks, as identified by the report released on May 8, 2019 by the specialized orthopedic unit of the Umberto I hospital in Nocera Inferiore.
The injured person, a sixty-year-old woman from Pagani, resided in the area of the accident itself, on the outskirts of Pagani: according to the investigators, he would have no responsibility for the impact, charged as per the disputes to the off-road driver, with the failure to comply with the rules set out in that area, sanctioned by the highway code.
