TREVISO. “It was an act of levity. I didn’t want to hurt anyone.” Three years and eight months to the Pam bomber. The trial of Enrico Sorarù has opened and closed, the 56-year-old homeless, originally from Rocca Pietore, who on the evening of November 8 detonated a bomb against the headquarters of the supermarket in via Zorzetto. The accusation against Sorarù was heavy. The charges challenged by the prosecutor, Massimo Zampicinini, were: attempted massacre, port of explosive device and aggravated damage. The bomber presented himself before the Gup Piera De Stefani at 2 pm on Tuesday, together with his defender, the lawyer Giuseppe Mazzupapa, who asked that he be tried according to the abbreviated procedure.
“I found the package in the park, I didn’t know where to put it, I didn’t want to hurt anyone,” repeated Sorarù, who said he was repentant and repeated his version of how things went. “I apologize, it was a trifle, I did not go to the carabinieri when I found the bomb because having precedents I feared for my freedom, having just come out of prison”.
This would have said the man, as reported by the defender. The 56-year-old retraced the evening of 8 November. Prosecutor Zampicinini asked for 12 years, that is the maximum, to which he added relapses and aggravating circumstances, reaching 18. Penalty reduced by a third, in abbreviated form. The judge partially accepted the defense’s thesis and sentenced the man to 3 years and 8 months, which he will serve in prison, where he was taken back.
