[Epoch Times January 1, 2022](The Epoch Times reporter Lin Zirong reported) The COVID-19 (Chinese Communist Party virus, new crown virus) epidemic in Japan has slowed down. On January 1, people participated in various activities to celebrate the New Year.

On the 1st, there was a crowd of people participating in New Year’s Eve activities in Shibuya, Tokyo, and people went to various shrines to participate in the New Year’s blessing ceremony. Many people gathered on the beaches of Chigasaki city to wait for the first light of the new year. Department stores sell New Year’s “fubags” (merchants put multiple goods into cloth bags or cartons for sale).

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida reminded the public to remember to wash hands and wear masks frequently, whether it is returning home for a trip or attending a New Year party.

According to statistics released by the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare on December 31 last year, there were 438 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the past day.
