The Ispa (Italian sustainability photo award) is a photographic award, conceived by the Parallelozero agency in collaboration with Pimco, dedicated to sustainability, understood as practices implemented by governments, companies and individuals to create a future that respects the environment and more fragile social categories.
The award is now in its third year and on January 25 the registrations for 2022 were open. Photographers from all over the world can participate but the projects must concern only the Italian territory. In the last edition the grant, the most important recognition, was awarded to Matteo de Mayda, who with There is no calm after the storm documented the consequences of the Vaia storm, a strong wave of wind and rain that hit northeastern Italy at the end of October 2018 and in particular the Dolomite area and the Venetian Pre-Alps.
Jean-Marc Caimi and Valentina Piccini instead won for their story that tells the impact of the xylella fastidiosa bacterium on Apulian agriculture. Finally, Michele Lapini was awarded for the best single photo, with a shot of the Presena glacier, in Trentino-Alto Adige.
From the competition website it is possible to find out more information on deadlines and how to participate.
