Politician tampers with ballot papers during elections in India, but then sees that he is being filmed

by admin

Indian politician Anil Masih (53) of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is in dire straits. Masih, who chairs the mayoral elections in Chandigarh, thought he could tamper with the election results unnoticed. Footage shows him making some adjustments to a ballot paper, looking around suspiciously and then noticing – to his horror – that there is a camera pointed at him.

The video was leaked on social media a few days ago. It is not yet clear whether sanctions will follow for the official. Politician Raghav Chadha (35) of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) therefore urges action. “He should be arrested,” it sounds. “It is a blow to democracy in India. We are hurt and worried about what could happen next in this year’s elections.”
