POLLA – One of the ambulances of the Polla hospital is particularly obsolete and the Nas have an immediate stop in the rescue vehicle. From the hospital they let it be known that there are no sanitary issues at the basis of the decision to stop the vehicle. Following the blocking of the use of the ambulance, the sick transport service proceeded regularly with the use of the 118 ambulances, pending the assignment of a new ambulance by the ASL Salerno.
In recent days, the good news has arrived from the Local Health Authority that with a resolution authorized the purchase of a new ambulance with a procedure through the presentation of binding offers for the acquisition of ambulances and self-medications intended for the health emergency Covid-19 published by the Extraordinary Commissioner for the implementation and coordination of measures to contain and combat the epidemiological emergency and managed by Invitalia. The company Olmedo spa of Ghiardo di Bibbiano in the province of Reggio Emilia will supply the new ambulance to the “Luigi Curto” hospital. Among other things, the resolution highlights that the need to quickly equip the Polla hospital with a new ambulance is dictated not only by the detention ordered by the NAS but also by the fact that “the Polla Hospital – reads the resolution – for some time now he has complained about the age and the numerical and technological shortage of the ambulance fleet “.
From what can be seen, therefore, in addition to the one that will arrive, hopefully in a short time, it would be necessary to buy other ambulances to replace those currently in service. The cost of the ambulance with the discounts applied by the company that won the tender amounts to 119 thousand euros including VAT. The rescue vehicle will be equipped with a latest generation bio-containment stretcher, a lung ventilator that can be used on both children and adults, a multi-parameter monitor and a defibrillator. Delivery is expected within 45 days from the order. As for the old ambulance stopped by the NAS, the hospital’s health management is evaluating whether or not it is convenient to convert the vehicle and use it as a normal van.
