Pont Canavese, remain suspended on the via ferrata: saved by the mountain rescue

The volunteers appreciated the prudence of the two young people, who, tired and in shock from a fall, called them for help. They are unharmed

PONT CANAVESE. Two teams from the Valle Orco station of the Twelfth Canavese Alpine Rescue Delegation intervened to recover two mountaineers stuck on the Pont Canavese via ferrata.

The two, resident in the province of Biella, class 92 and 94 were facing the high variant of the route, very difficult and exposed when one of them lost his grip and fell for a few meters, suitably held by the special kit he was equipped with.

The fall, however, damaged the tie rods of the device and, since the remaining stretch was still long and difficult, the evident fatigue and shock prompted the two athletes to stop and ask for help from the mountain rescue.

A team of volunteers went up the via ferrata, taking a spare kit with them and all together went up to the exit, where the other team was waiting for them. The volunteers greatly appreciated the caution of the two hikers, who preferred to get help rather than risk proceeding in conditions, which could prove to be critical. The two boys are unharmed and in excellent condition.
