THE INVESTIGATION
The results of the sociological analysis on young Pontalpines have been published. This is the conclusion of a project that has been going on for several years. In fact, in 2019 a process was launched to investigate the needs and conditions of the boys and girls who reside in Ponte and who are between 12 and 25 years old. The promoter was the municipal administration with the technical advice of the sociologist Diego Cason and the coordination of the councilor with responsibility for Equal Opportunities Sabrina Dassiè and the support of a working group of some young people with various skills and studies on the subject, or Erica Chies , Claudia Collarin, Alberto Zornitta and Elia Soracase (also counting on the collaboration of the Pertini middle schools, the adolescent space and the “La Esse” cooperative). The final result was therefore the publication “Giovani a Ponte nelle Alpi” edited by Isbrec, which is part of the series of Quaderni dell’Osservatorio Bellunese, with the contribution of the Province of Belluno. The book will soon be distributed in all libraries and schools in the province.
«The goal was to collect the requests of young people», explain the promoters, «to make them protagonists of their and our future, with confidence. Central to us is the theme of the trust that young people place on institutions, on themselves, on the community, on others. Trust is a fundamental component of social integration, it is the element that allows the construction of positive and efficient relationships. This is why it is necessary to dialogue with young people and listen to them, progressing together. And everyone is involved in this dialogue: families, schools, associations and institutions ».
Some data had already been anticipated in recent months; first of all it makes us reflect on the question of how to solve some youth problems with the dry majority response that was “talking to young people”, which can also be a clear stimulus for administrators. Among the youngest, among the needs highlighted by the answers, there is a desire for sport (23 disciplines practiced in Ponte) and for training, with language and music courses (with dozens of instruments already studied today). Among the greatest fears are those of family distress, domestic violence and bullying; Fortunately, however, 90% still declare that they have a good relationship with their family and 72% also have a good relationship with their peers. The work, on the other hand, is still outside the horizons of the very young, as well as the spheres of illness, the future and sexuality. The main interests are sports, music, TV and video games, while in the last places we find culture, theater, engagement in politics and religion, themes that affect less than 10% of the interviewees. In his free time he dedicates himself above all to being with friends than to reading, which is in the last places but still with 60% of “lovers” which bodes well. –
