Pordenone, vaccines at the fair from Monday: twelve stations for 1,300 doses per day

PORDENONE. Instead of the information point, triage. Instead of conventions and catering, twelve brand new stations equipped with coffee table, chair and coat hanger. The vaccination point at the fair, set up within a few days on the basis of a plan prepared for months, is a reality.

Everything is finally ready to welcome, on Monday at 9.30, the first Pordenone people who have made an appointment in the structure in viale Treviso 1.

Vaccinations, the new center in Pordenone will open on Monday 29 March

An important moment for them and for the community: the goal is not to be caught unprepared for the “decisive acceleration” of the immunization campaign expected in the coming weeks. Word of the deputy governor with responsibility for Health Riccardo Riccardi, who will be present on Monday at the start of the vaccination center.

On Thursday 25th an inspection was carried out extended to the mayor, councilors and AsFo managers to verify that the structure is ready. And it is: the “machine” is capable of vaccinating 1300 people a day.

Everything is thought out in detail, starting with the arrival of the cars. Two routes, one for those who can move independently and one for the handicapped, to whom a dedicated vaccination station is reserved. All others after parking will have to enter through the main entrance of the fair.

There is the first step: measuring the temperature and sanitizing the hands. Then we move to the hall, now dedicated to admission and triage. The area is equipped with chairs in case you need to wait a few minutes. No risk of crowding: the reservation serves precisely to avoid having many people at the same time. A foresight that, according to the Municipality, will also avoid inconveniences related to traffic.

Once acceptance is complete, the obligatory route leads to the vaccination stations. What was once a large room for conferences and buffets, is now divided into different rooms: the first space consists of a large central corridor with the vaccination stations on the sides obtained thanks to dividing walls: they are equipped with a chair, a table and clothes hangers.

You enter on one side, exit on the other, coming out into a corridor that leads directly to the waiting area, delimited by path-marking columns. There you have to wait – seated – about 15 minutes. The organization has also prepared two tables for booking the second dose. The “tour” is short after all: it is already time to start the exit, diversified from the entrance, without forgetting a new sanitization of the hands.

In addition to the mayor Alessandro Ciriani, the deputy mayor Eligio Grisso, the councilor Emanuele Loperfido, the medical director of AsFo Michele Chittaro and the landlord, the president of Pordenonefiere Renato Pujatti were present, with a “logoed” bib and mask.

«We leave on Monday at 9.30 – explains Chittaro – and on the first day we will use 8 stations. Then, when fully operational, 12 will be used in a continuous cycle, from 8.30 to 19.30. Two days a week, in the first period, with the possibility of increasing the days according to the arrival of the doses ».

On this point, the mayor is optimistic. “We have received reassurances from the Region: Pordenone can begin to breathe at least a partial sigh of relief”. –
