BELLUNO. There are requests for leave or leave among school staff who do not intend to be vaccinated against Covid-19 or undergo swabs every two days. There are already many teachers, administrative employees and school collaborators who have submitted the application or leave that allows them to stay at home for one to two years without salary and without payment of contributions for personal or work reasons, or parental leave with the law 104, but many are also those who have called the trade unions to ask for information on how to obtain these suspensions from work.

A situation for now at the beginning but that could expand with the start of the school year. The first litmus test of the Green pass for school staff is scheduled for tomorrow when all schools will resume organizational activities with class councils and teachers’ colleges. But some institutes preferred to carry out these meetings by videoconference, postponing the checks of the certificates to 13 September, the beginning of the lessons.

“A newly hired teacher called me to ask me what he should do to quit since he does not intend to get vaccinated,” says Lorella Benvengù, secretary of the CISL School of Belluno-Treviso, taking this episode as an example of the situations that are being created. “Someone else asked me for information on how to ask for leave or leave with law 104. Everyone has their reasons, but what I have found in general is a great fear of the vaccine and side effects.”

“As Anief at national level, we have appealed against the introduction of the Green pass in the school”, explains Lucilla Ravetto of the union, who underlines how “many calls are arriving from those who do not intend to get immunized and therefore ask us for information on the tools to obtain a suspension from employment “.

But in the case of expectation, the consent must come from the head teacher, based on the school organization.

In the meantime, however, the increasing number of staff who do not intend to attend school is growing, putting the institutions in great difficulty, which are forced to replace these employees with alternates. And even in this case the replacement will not be so immediate, given that even among these there could be no vaxes by choice or health and therefore you will have to scroll through the ranking in search of replacements. And the undertaking may not be that simple.

Meanwhile, the managers are organizing to check the green certifications of their employees: “Until the ministerial platform that will automatically check the expiry of the document, it will be the school collaborators to verify the validity of the Green pass through the App” , specifies Violetta Anesin who leads the Renier and Dolomieu institutes. “This is why we asked everyone to show up at least 5 minutes early to avoid queues and delays.”
