During the meeting, China’s representative of countries with similar views stated in a joint speech that poverty eradication is the primary goal of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and an important aspect of the promotion and protection of human rights. All countries should pay more attention to poverty reduction and increase investment. National conditions formulate national poverty reduction strategies and policies, continue to improve people’s living standards, strengthen social security, and ensure that development results are more equitable to benefit all people. The international community should further promote international cooperation in poverty reduction, especially to provide assistance to developing countries.

In response to the human rights problems in the United States and Western countries, representatives of China and the vast majority of developing countries have issued a call for justice, urging relevant countries to stop human rights violations and protect the rights and interests of relevant people.

In the Human Rights Council discussions, China’s representative addressed issues such as the “Five Eyes Alliance” countries’ privacy violations, the suffering caused by the United States and Britain to the Syrian people, Canada’s serious violations of the rights of indigenous women and girls, and the United States’ dissemination of false information for political purposes.
