The man was forced to pull over by the carabinieri. The breathalyser resulted in 2 grams of alcohol per liter of blood: four times the maximum. Driving license withdrawn and half seized

BELLUNO. Pursued by the carabinieri in Levego, he is stopped and blows four times over the limit allowed by law to get behind the wheel. License withdrawn and half seized, because the inspection had expired.

It happened last Wednesday. A man of about forty, from Trentino, was traveling aboard a van from Ponte nelle Alpi in the direction of Belluno when the carabinieri attempted to pull him over because he had a driving behavior that aroused suspicion.

And they were right, the military: when, with the help of another patrol waiting for him near Belluno, they managed to stop him, the alcohol test confirmed that the driver was behind the wheel with a blood alcohol level equal to 2. Four times the limit allowed by law.

The episode occurred around 5 pm, a time when the Provincial road 1 is quite busy because it is the moment for workers to leave the factories and for the end of a day spent in the office.

The motorists who were passing through the Sp1 found themselves in the middle of a chase, with the van driven by the Trentino driving at high speed. It is likely that the man did not realize that the carabinieri invited him to pull over for a check, in any case there were reports to stop.

The military chased him along the provincial road, another patrol was waiting for him a few hundred meters further on, towards Belluno. This is where the man stopped and was checked.

The soldiers of the Belluno company, led by Lieutenant Colonel Nicola Darida, proceeded with the alcohol test and document control. The alcohol level shown by the machine (2, on a legal limit of 0.5) led to the withdrawal of the driving license. The van was then confiscated because it had an expired inspection.
