(ANSA) – SAINT PETERSBURG, 04 JUNE – That Russia does not want to fight climate change is “a myth”, “absurd” insinuations. Vladimir Putin said this at the St. Petersburg Forum presenting a broad package of measures to achieve “neutrality” in CO2 emissions, including an internal market for ‘carbon units’ to reach a “world leader”. Putin then reiterated that Russia has the “ambitious” goal of having lower emissions than the European Union within 30 (rpt, 30) years. (HANDLE).
