Saved by the Alpine Rescue after sliding for 200 meters
QUINCINETTO – A demanding afternoon, that of yesterday, Saturday 23 October 2021, for the XII Canavese Delegation of Alpine Rescue. A 40-year-old hunter, residing in Valchiusa, engaged in a hunt near the Bocchetta di Valbona at about 2000 meters above sea level in the territory of the Municipality of Quincinetto, slipped on the olive grass and fell for about 200 meters. However, he managed to call for help and a first team from the Ivrea Alpine Rescue station went to the scene of the accident and gave first aid to the injured person. The looming fog initially prevented the direct intervention of the helicopter and made it possible to transport the injured person on a stretcher. It would have been a very difficult transport, due to the length to be traveled and the very rough terrain. The help of the other stations was therefore requested and another ten volunteers arrived on Quincinetto from the stations of Valprato Soana and Valle Orco, who were taken by helicopter to the edge of the fog, at about 1500 meters above sea level. quote. From there they then walked to their companions and the wounded hunter. Despite the significant number of technicians involved, the transport of the injured would still have been problematic; Fortunately, the fog dissolved shortly before the arrival of darkness and in this way the 118 helicopter was able to intervene and took over the injured person and transported him to the Cirié hospital, in conditions that are not worrying after all . Considering the fall he can consider himself very lucky. The volunteers returned to their homes late at night.
