The forty-year-old Pole found off the path towards the Porta del Masarè

VAL DI ZOLDO. Last night around 20.30 the 118 Central alerted the Alpine Rescue of the Val di Zoldo, following the call of a foreign hiker stuck in the area of the Ferrata Alleghesi, on the Civetta, in a point where he did not trust to move. Since from the first information it was not clear where he could be, a rescuer went up to Pian del Crep and identified the light in the area of the start of the via ferrata.

A team arrived by jeep at the cableway of the Torrani Refuge and then continued on foot to the start of the equipped route, where, however, there was no one, the man did not respond to voice calls and his cell phone was unreachable. After going around the shoulder, the team caught a glimpse of a light towards the Porta del Masarè, off the path in an exposed stretch. Upon reaching the hiker, a 41-year-old Pole, it was verified that he was in good condition and equipped, although he suffered from pain in one knee. Helped to get off the path, the hiker was accompanied downstream and by off-road vehicle to Palafavera where he had his car. The intervention ended at 1.30 am.
