Raised 26 thousand euros with the campaign of the Welfare Fund and the Committee of Understanding. Councilor Pellegrini: “From 500 to 800 euros to cover daily expenses”

BELLUNO. There are those who are unable to pay rent, bills, condominium expenses. Others are struggling with medical bills, or buying tablets and PCs for their schoolchildren. The Welfare Fund and the Understanding Committee have taken the field to help the families on which the Covid pandemic has had dramatic consequences. The “Help us Belluno” campaign raised € 26,060 for the Belluno area and € 17,940 for the Feltre area. Money that will be allocated to families in difficulty through a tender.

Yesterday the council of the Municipality of Belluno approved the announcement of the Area, the tool that families must refer to in order to have access to resources. “We will publish it on the institutional website in the coming days, and in the document there will be all the instructions to apply for access to funds,” said the councilor for social security, Lucia Pellegrini. “Citizens who find themselves in difficult conditions because the pandemic has had a serious impact on their income, demonstrable through bank statements or tax returns, for example, will be able to apply for a contribution ranging from a minimum of 500 euros to a maximum of 800 euros “.

The money can be spent on buying groceries, medicines, for medical visits, to pay rent, bills, condominium expenses, or to buy PCs and tablets for distance learning. There will be time until July 29 to apply to the Municipality. The tender will be valid for the 46 Municipalities of the Belluno area, that is the area from the capital to Ponte nelle Alpi, Longarone, Cadore, Zoldano, Agordino, Alpago and Comelico. If the questions exceed the amount available, a ranking will be made to assign the contributions.

To do the shopping, however, there are still food vouchers: the Municipality of Belluno is preparing a new tender. “We have chosen not to disburse all the contributions arrived from the state (189 thousand euros) in a single tranche, but to distribute them during the year,” explains the commissioner Pellegrini. “In this way the families most in difficulty, because perhaps their parents have lost their jobs due to the pandemic, can re-apply”.

These resources can be spent in the affiliated activities, present on the dedicated platform. The contribution can also be spent on multiple activities: it is not necessary to use it up with a single purchase. The announcement will be published shortly on the Municipality website.
