Rocca Pietore, a building uncovered by the wind in Laste

by admin

The gusts raised the metal roof of the chapel not far from the parish church

ROCCA PIETORE. The gusts of wind that hit Laste di Roccapietore during the night and this morning, Friday 28 January, almost completely uncovered a building not far from the parish church of the hamlet. There were no consequences for the people but the permanent firefighters of Agordo and the volunteers of Caprile have been busy for a long time to fix the cover.

“It is a building used as a chapel, in good condition”, explains the mayor of Rocca Pietore, Andrea De Bernardin. «You can see that the wind has managed to find a space to enter under the sheet metal and has uncovered the roof. In any case, I believe that they are residues of what Vaia left us, we were fully aware of it: both the forest and the roofs of the houses undoubtedly took a strong shake with the storm and now perhaps less is enough to cause damage ».

In the end, the budget of the episode is all in all limited, the mayor underlines, also because there were no consequences for the people. «But clearly every time there is wind on Rocca Pietore, and I think in a good part of the Belluno area», says De Bernardin, «there is certainly a little more concern than before compared to before Vaia».
