Runner dies after a fall at the TDS

The accident occurred during the night in Haute-Savoie

Tragedy at the Tds race, “sur les Traces des Ducs de Savoie”, which started yesterday from Courmayeur. During the night an ultratrailer fell while facing the descent from the Passeur de Pralognan hill, in Haute-Savoie, sustaining serious injuries. The man was taken to hospital by helicopter, but he didn’t make it.

The crash occurred 25 minutes after midnight at kilometer 62.3.

The race, part of the Ultratrail Mont Blanc, is continuing for the 293 athletes who had already passed the accident zone.

The organizers express “deep sadness” for the death of the athlete of Czech nationality. Relatives “have been informed”.
